So. We were offered a highchair from SV when she found out that we were preggos. We forego it and thanked her. Didn’t think we would need it. When I was researching, I didn’t even consider purchasing one. So when she offered, we didn’t “need’ it really. Didn’t even use one, at home, throughout :]
At 9 months, for the set-up for his first taste, we sat him against the boppy pillow, and had one of the tiny Munchkin White hot Safety spoons that we also let him hold/play with.
(9 months, because we were traveling out of the country between month 7-8. We had decided that it was “safer” to not let him try other food and packed A LOT of formula as a back-up to breastfeeding/pumping. [travel post here]) The Gerber rice cereal that you mix with a liquid.
Then it went to the Gerber baby food for sitter, pick-up, then the HappyBaby and HappyTot pouches.
The Gerber Puffs and Lil Crunchies were also a hit that we would place in a Munchkin Snack Stainless Steel Snack Catcher with Lid. (This helped kept our dog away from the snacks and allowed the child to reach in and out of the container for snacks on his own.)
When he got older and could eat on his own a tiny bit we got these:
Silicone Bowl/Mat: the ezpz Mini Bowl, an ezpz Happy Bowl Placemat, and an ezpz Carebear one with divided slots.
Spoon/fork: from the tiny Munchkin ones from month 9 to the Munchkin White Hot Spoons to the Re-play fork and spoon sets (still being used @ 4 years).
Silicone Placemats: bought Skiphop owl placemat (seemed to have been the only option at the time!), then got the 2 pack Munchkin Silicone Placemats. (Only these 3 the entire time.)
Food Scissors: didn’t know I needed these… and now we just use these Tiny Bites Food Shears from Amazon. Comes in a 2 pack. Had 1 for the longest time… 1 broke, bought another and another 1 broke… and so I recently got 2 additional sets. Over a 3 year span though.

I thought about doing the puree myself… but I didn’t even know how to cook so well. Even got a book and these oxo baby food containers to store and get started. Just didn’t get around to it. Hahah. Just the fear of the food expiring and all that stuff.
The jars and pouches became easier.
